Since starting a science YouTube channel in 2012, before it was cool, Alex has racked up nearly 15 years of experience creating digital science education content for online audiences.

She is a writer and host for the American Chemical Society’s Reactions YouTube channel, recently performing experiments like turning eggshells into leather using chemistry, and blowtorching amethysts for science. Her Reactions videos, created with the help of the whole production team, often find an intersection between curiosity, art, and science.

For her own social media channels, she recently produced a series of short vertical videos taste-testing every amino acid. These videos explored biochemistry with a fun, sometimes gross, reaction-based hooks, focusing on different molecular properties each week.

She additionally produces a weekly vertical series for the Museum of Science, Boston, which focuses on “Everyday Awesome” scientific phenomena, from cosmic rays to your dog’s frito feet!
